Dear Dr. Wilber I really enjoyed your class, I learned a lot I really liked when we Had the circle speaches, it really helped me come out of my shell quicker then I thought I would. I learned a lot when It comes to studying techniques for classes to come. I really appreciated every lesson you tough good luck with life.

Terry Bradshaw

In 1969, Terry Bradshaw was considered by most pro scouts to be the most outstanding college senior. As such, he was the first player selected in the 1970 National Football League Draft. It took the 6-3, 215-pound Louisiana Tech graduate a few seasons to adjust to the pro game but once he did, he became the dominant quarterback of the NFL and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to eight AFC Central championships, and an unprecedented four Super Bowl titles in a six-year period from 1974 to 1979.

Tracy McGrady

is an American professional basketball player, currently positioned at starting shooting guard for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is commonly referred to as "T-Mac," and he can also play the small forward position.

Heinz ward

Heinz ward a eleven year vet from the university of Georgia he originaly was a quarter back but when he came to Pittsburgh he switch to wide reciever. He has lead the league in receptions multiple times, he is also a multiple pro bowler. He is known for being one of the toughest recievers in the league he makes the toughest blocks on his defenders. You could never tell if he is serious because throughout his entire career he keeps a smile on his face. In the 2006 season when Pittsburgh won the super bowl he recieved the MVP award (most valuble player)

Troy polamalu

The starting strong saftey for the Pittsburgh Steelers is in my eyes one of th best at his position currently and for years to come. He is in like his fifth year out of the university of Southern California(USC). He is already a multiple pro bowler who hits tremendously hard. He is like an entire defense because he makes plays all ovet the field. I think he is honestly one of the best players to ever play the game.

Bad Cops 3

Recently a African American Chief from I think New York was sitting inside his car, when two white officers with lower rankings tried to pull him out of his car. He told them that he was a chief and he even showed them his badge they continued to say they didn't believe him. They said that his badge was fake and he got out of the car, and one of the police officers where tried to yell out "gun". I don't really know wat really happened after that. I do know the two officers where suspendid but it's just the principle of the whole thing, predgidous officers all over the entire country. I hope one day we could all get over this situtation because it is too dangerous

bad cops 2

In Philadelphia three men were pulled over, and pulled out of their vehicle and they decided the African Americans who were siting on the ground were not following their commands. Eighteen police officers beat the three unarmed for several minutes. I think it was so unneccessary for all of that it resembled a olderknown situation where a single guy got the same treatment Rodney King. Again none of the accused officers were sentences for what reason I don't know but I think thats un fair.

Bad cops

Last year a young african american with the last name of bell was comming out of a night club a day before his wedding, causing no problems but a couple police officers felt different about the situation. So they decided to shoot at him fifty times, they claimed he had a gun but after the merage of bullets it was clear that he didn't have any weapons. Even if he did have a gun I don't think it would've taken fifty bullets to dis arm him. Then when he was in the hospital the doctor was about to give his mother some information there was a police officer inside and he gave him a eye then the doctor changed his mind and said that he was able to. None of the police officers were even charged.

20 straight wins

My favorite NBA team the Houston Rockets went on one of the longest game winning streaks(20 games). I watch Basketball but not that often I could only watch it when its a meaningful game like the playoffs or when one of the franchise players are playing. I like to watch when there is going to be alot of spectacular dunks and alley oops are going to accur. I didn't get the chance to see any of the games in the streak because I wasn't paying attention to the NBA. Im still happy because we made it to the playoffs.

Change of thoughts(kind of)

Before I left to college I basically had my mind made up that I wasn't going to join any ferternities. When I came here and got a chance to see all of the probates and I got a chance to get a better understanding of everything from pledging to the benefits of the entire process. I thought twice about it and I think I could actually be intristed in pledging one of them. Im not really sure which one I want to join or if I am goin to join period.

Ben Rothlisberger accident

Following the goal of being the youngest quarter back to lead a NFL team to a championship victory "Big Ben Rothlisberger", got into a motorcycle accident during breaking his nose and jaw. He was left in serious condition I was frieghtened I didn't know if he would be ready for the next season or anymore seasons to come. He did play the following season and started I think fifteen of the sixteen games we played. I don't think we even made it to the playoffs that year because we looked so sloppy and I think he even hurt his shoulder that year it wasn't a good year for us finishing up with an 8 and 8 record.

2006 World champions

In the 2006 NFL season the Pittsburgh Steelers were the world champions. It was suprising because we had a second year quarter back starting who no one really knew about. He came from a small divison one school miami(ohio) but there he broke a lot of records. That year we had a lot of close games, including the confrence game against the Indianapolis Colts when we were up by less than a touch down and Jerome Bettis fumbled on the goaline and one of the Colts almost returned it for a touchdown and Ben Rothlisberger saved the day.

fifth round pick

Another standout pick was our fifth round pick who suffered a harsh injury midway through his senior year. The number one quarter back out of Oregon Ducks Dennis Dixon an extremely moblie quarter back with a great arm. He would've origanly been one of the top quarter backs out of the draft if it wasn't for his knee injury he suffered. In a selfish way im happy he did, but honestly im not because I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I am happy that we selected such a great talent.

first round pick robbed

Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Rashard Mendenhall was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. Mendenhall’s mother, Sybil, confirmed to the newspaper that her son was one of two people robbed along the city’s lakefront at about 2 a.m. Monday morning. “He didn’t get hit or anything, he didn’t get hurt or anything,” Sybil Mendenhall said Monday afternoon. “He’s fine.” He had recently returned from the team’s three-day minicamp. Sybil Mendenhall said her son had his wallet and cell phone taken by the robbers.

2008 draft overall

I think our draft this season was ok, compared to recent drafts. I say that because we would never get any premier position players and this year we happened to get two of them. What I didn't understand is why we didn't pick up any of the corners this year. We really need more corners because previous seasons it was kind of like our weak spot on defense, but we still managed to stay in the top five for those years.

fourth round pick

Our fourth round pick was one of the most important and suprising because a guy who I thought would go in the first or second round went in the fourth. Limas sweed a big wide reciever from the Texas longhorns one of the top divison one schools in the big 12. We really needed another reciever because when our running game wasn't working we didn't really have big gunners to pass to. Now I think we do have a nice recieving crew to gun with now.

2nd and third round pick

I dont really know too much about our second and third pick all I know is it was a line backer and a line man I know we are always in need of a line man but we also could use line backers too. Especially because we just lost one of our premier line backers. I dnt know why he left but what ever the reason is it didn't make me happy

First round pick

In the first round of the NfL Draft pick I wasn't aware of who we might of been looking for to draft. I thought it would of been a offensive linemen because Thats all we seem to pick up in the draft for the last couple drafts. I was suprized because we picked up a good running back. We really need a second back because last season our first string running back got hurt our second picked up a little, but I think we could use another just in case.

Ma boi Broadway

recently one of my gud friends was shot and killed back home in a gang related altercation. The bad thing is since I was up at school and really jus nto talking to anyone really back home I didn't find out untill like a couple days later it was devastating because he was a gud guy, I know one thing he will be missed more or less R.I.P Broadway!!!

Freeman bomb threat

Being that I live in Freeman hall on campus I know how boring Freeman hall really is. I thought to myself why woul some body threaten to bomb Freeman of all places, no one is hardly ever ovver in this area. I would've been mad if it did happen, because all of my belongs are even if I wasn't here.

student center bomb scares

When the student center got treatened I was so hungry it wasn't funny, I was more angry then scared of the threat. So while I was waiting for the student center to open up I was walking around the campus with a couple friends of mine trying to come across a free meal. We came across a female serority who was happening to be giving out cupcakes so we pretty much took them all. For some reason we didn't believe that there was a bomb inside anyway and it wasn't.

six flags....

six flags is one of the worst amusement parks to attend economically because the prices of everything is boasted every year. I used to go to six flags every weekend well not really, but i went very often now you couldn't even afford to go one time unless your really living comfortably. A slice of pizza at six flags costs seven dollars a single hotdog is three dollars, a funnel cake is seven dollars. Next time your considering going to an amusement park cancel out six flags unless your wealthy.

MSU football 2008 season

The team made a great run for the playoffs this year. Unafortunately I couldn't contribute towards the outcome of the season due to injuries. I was happy with the outcome because, we had a good record(9-2) we won nine games and lost two. Most people would say how could you lose two games and not make the playoffs. simply because the two losses that we had where conference games. Two teams made the playoffs and their records consisted of 3, and 4 losses but they weren't conference games. We did have a bowl game which we won against albright university.

walkin late

I live on campus in Freeman hall, but I dont have any friends really in freeman so everyday I travel accross campus to other buildings to visit or just to have fun. I usually end up walking back to my room late at nite or early in the morning. Around that time all of the roadants and animals are usualy out walkin around as well. I didn't really know until I saw in one night a deer that wouldn't run away and a couple racoons. I was so tired and I didn't feel like running so I had to walk all the way around two other buildings to avoid them.

movie vs book(kite runner)

They left out alot of stuff in the movie because, the difference between a movie and a book is the movie you could see all the visuals visually and in a book you have to imagine everything using the details listed. That also means that the book have extra details to make the visual less difficult. like in the movie they left out the surgeory part along with explaining his mother plus more in the movie.

Amir

I think Amir kind of made up for wathching his bestfriend get raped without helping or atleast running to get some help. It would take a lot to say you made up for something like that because some thing like that could easily ruin a person's life. Bringing his son from over there to a somewhat safer place is one thing but to actually go over there is a whole different story so i would say he made up for everything.

runnin out

At third of every semister in college so far which hasn't been to many because im only a freshman I began to reallize that I don't have enough swipes to last me untill the end of the semister. I think this is a huge deal because i like to eat and so does my friends and I thought it was just me but there are a lot of people who suffer from noswipeisis. I think if there where more things to do around the campus then we wouldn't get as hungry so fast.

Montclair Fest

I thought the Montclair fest would've been way better then it actually was but to my suprise it wasn't all that it was hyped up to be. I missed Penn relays in Philadelphia for that "fest" first of all it was kind of cold outside then there wasn't even any new faces out there. When I say that I mean all of the people out there was the same people I see everyday. I thought I would see people from different schools around or just in general. I hope the Montclair fest is a hundred times better next year, but I cant really complain because it was free.

would i go to school

Me and a couple of my friends were discussing the finer things in life and we came to a disagreement. We were discussing whether or not we would go to school or not if we where lucky enough to come accross and own a billion dollars half of us said we wouldnt, and their reasoning was thats the reason we go to school to make a good living in the future and if you already have a good living there's no need. The other half said they would because they would like to learn something still and enjoy the regular life and how to manage

christmas break part 2

The second half of my break was the worst becase everyone left back to school before we did its like Montclair had the longest break in the world everyone was at school by the time we had a week left to go back. So it was even more sleep then I did the first week.

my christmas break part 1

The first week of my christmas break was like the best week that had in the last half of my life. All I did was sleep I got enough sleep to last me the rest of the break, well not exactly. After the first week of sleep I just chilled out with ma friends. The only thing with that they wanted to hang out when the days were over I was tired by the time we hung out. We kept waiting to the whole day was over to hang out and my city had a curfew. So we kept gettin stopped randomly

spring ball

We finally started spring ball, spring ball is when the football team start practicing different new plays for upper classmen. Football is a fall sport but to get ready for the following season we started a couple camping. So far spring ball has not been hard at all I'm not mad, because I needed to get the workout because I fell off I wasn't working out enough.

hopes 2 high

Man I had high hopes on going to the pokonoes for my entire spring break, but when I got home I found out that my family members were going the following week because thats when there spring breaks were, so instead I really didn't have too much to do but sit in the house and play madden. I mean I did go a whole season underfeated so I was happpy about that. I really wanted to go some where else. I did go out with a couple of my friends one night that was kind of fun i guess. Next spring break I have I am going to make sure that I have something planned.

lucky summer part 4

After I got the door on and I was just leaving the crutches alone I wanted to have a little fun before my summer was up so I was returning from six flags and I was going home It was type late. The traffic lights started flashing and a guy decided he wanted to run a light and hit my car on the passenger side and totalled my car I was jus so mad I couldn't get scared I wanted to just go off but the police came. I was just at a lost of words for my summer that I thought would've been the best of them all.

lucky summer part 3

After the game I was angry I had to walk all around with crutches and what not. I was driving home one night from somewhere I don't remember, and I got in front of my house and parked. I had to get my crutches out of the back seat so as I was reaching for my crutches A car came by and nearly took my door off. It hit the door and folded it the opposite way I didn't even know what happened it happened so fast then I looked at the door. My mom came running outside and she was more affraid then I was. I was just mad about how long I had to wait to get the drivers insurance to cover the door. It would have tooken too long so I had to go pay for it myself I took a little longer then I wanted but I found the expensive door I needed, then my grandfather an retired expert put it on for a good cost.

lucky summer part 2

I had a puffy eye from this party then My allstar game practice began so my eye healed enough for me to be able to practice and within three practices I was feel on top of by a group of fat lineman and line backers so I hiper extended my knee. That pretty much rapped up my allstar game I wait half of my highschool year to play.

lucky summer part 1

My "lucky summer" started off not so lucky first due to procrastination I didn't know what school I was going to attend because I was just waiting for the big scholarship from a school. But I finally realized I shouldn't have waited so long after my series of not so lucky insidents. I went to a party in my neighborhood and it just "popped off"(got crazy) everybody started fighting and I didn't have no problems so I Just chilled next thing I know funiture and everything was fling and I got hit with a bottle somebody threw. It hit my eye and I had to get stitches and I never found out who It was.

lucky summer part 5

A picture I took of myself this summer during the fifth day of MSU's football camp. The picture is of me in the trainers room after I tore my quad from me simply running down the field covering a player. I thought my bad luck for the summer ran out because it was just so much before then. I guess I was kind of asking for it because before practice I was doing front squats in the weight room and my quads where the target of the exercise. So I had to sit out my intire freashman season as a red shirt. On the bright side I get the year back with more knowledge then before.

The real top priority(hood)

Everyone in just about every ghetto or hood would claim that the top priority of eveyone is to make it out of the hood but I think it iseverything but that because when anyone have a chance to make it out they would not take advantage. I would say people's top priority is to just know that they have a great rep for the future.

beef rumor

There was a rumor going around about beef in The U.S, I heard that some place sent over hundreds of millions of bad beef. They say it was bad because the cows where cripled and sick when they got the beef. I haven't ate any beef since I heard about it

bad times

I was in da gym last week and I took my phone with me and I had to leave my stuff out side that I wasn't wearing outside and somebody took ma phone. I feeling a little on the "swerve" side if I find out who stole it I think I gone do something I shouldn't do. I jus hate for people to steal from me its like one of the worst things to do.

fake thugs

With the gang situation I think its all getting out of hand like with Bloods and Crips. It was all supose to be about getting money in a not good matter because of the drugs involved. It also was because the hispanics were trying to opress the black and no body would do anything about it. The hispanic were like the first with the drugs from over seas and whatever. Then bloods evolved into a huge deal I could really say why or how crips got involved but im pretty sure it was then when the bloods took over they made an impact cause the people who was left and didn't wanna follow the bloods to erupt. Know its all gotten out of hand bloods killing bloods because of jealousy and just plain cowardness. I hate when people who never got a look as a regular person become blood or "Bum home" as they call it and all of a sudden they're the toughest guys, it funny to me.

" The Trenton makes bridge" its actually reads "Trenton makes the world takes" its a bridge outside of the city I was born and raised in that streches across the river that goes along the south coast of Trenton(The Delaware river). It goes from Trenton into Morrisville Pennsylvania. I heard A lot of factories used to be in Trento and they used to make a lot of different thing like steel and other things, and thats what they ment by "Trenton makes the world takes".

Cedric's position

I really think Cedrics life is so common it just so happens he got a chance to get his life published. I think everyone was put it certain situations because the lord him self believes they can over come any obsticle they are placed in front of. I think He shouldn't have recieved any additional help then the help he already had unless he just got lucky or entered a contest or something similar. I do believe he could have been less fortunate than others that surrounded him but there had to be some benefits if he was to explore he could see. I notice everyone around Montclair who came from a hard environment like to talk about it consistantly to others. I always wondered if everyone is always looking for a hand out or for someone to feel bad for them. But then I realized after watching different entertainment shows and listening to music everyone wants to be the tough guy and say how they could grow up in the "hood" and say they are hood so others would think of them as the cool type its funny to me sometimes. Just because you grow up in the hood it does mean your hood. I could be wrong but to me it seemed to me cedric tried to play that role.

Ma "Earff"(Mom)

Another fourth of my inspiration is my mom, man a single mother of six, who keep the house laid out and everybody fresh along and everybody's belly on full. I have a feeling there is no other mother in the world who would sacrifice as much as she did. I really believe she would go over board to provide for her children. I mean I just wish I was never the little hard head I was. I really gave her a hard time when I was younger. Then I realized the route I wanted to take so I left my old ways to become a better person for me, her and others.

Ma Grandma

One fourth of my inspiration would have to be ma grandma. I basically grew up with her, she one of the meanest indivisuals in the world according to everyone who knows her. I agree she is real mean but its like something about her and me that just click. Everyone in the family know im like her favorite grand child. If I wasnt at my house I was at hers. We went every where together traveled down south all the time. She is also a diabetic and its kind of haretitary. One night I almost gave up on life when I was at her house and she was having a stroke and I didn't know what to do, so I had to calm down and I called the emergency room to send the paramedics. I called half of my family to let them know what was happening and they all tryed to make it a big deal like I saved her life. I just looked at it as a oportunity to do for her what she was doin for me all my life and thats just be there.

Boring

The only suprise about my college experience is how boring the weekends are. Everyone goes home for the weekend and everything is left empty and boring. During the first couple weeks here I would stay here and look for something to get into. Then I realized it was impossible because the school was empty. So now every weekend I take it home as well but sometimes it still be boring because everyone is either working at home or at school. So i'm just confused about the situation I don't know if I should stay here or go home because the out come would be the same.

Steelers grass

The Pittsburgh Steelers "the best team ever" is like one of three teams in the NFL whose home field is still natural grass. When it rained before games it would be in horrible conditions. One time it was so horrible that the ball got stuck in the grass. Our starting RB didn't fumble all season until this game where he put the ball on the ground three times. The trainers and players all suguested it was the best dicision because it was safer injury wise.

half time

It's half time and Im sweetin like a slave watching a "bean" go down the drain. I can't stand Dwight Howard and Lebron James they are killing the Western allstars by themselves. I mean where did they even come from I knew of Lebron, but what is a Dwight Howard. All I know is he's killing me right know. I hope He gets tired real quick for the sake of my bet.

dumb all star weekend move

I don't really watch basketball like that, i used to but I don't follow up on in it as much. I dont know who got traded or retired and i made the dumbest move. I made a hundred dollar bet that the west all stars would win because my team is the Houston Rockets and I wouldn't go against my own team. I didn't really think it through because I just thought about my team and the previous wins of the western all star team, go West!!!!

gurl power

It crazy how much power gurls have over males, not always physically but mentally. In my neighborhood alot of altercations between males come from jelousy and if you investigate the situation far back enough most likely you will see that someone's girl friend was in it. I can't understand how it would be that serious, I understand you are suppose to care for your mate but if your mate choose someone else over you then thats stupid to make it a problem between you and your mates choice

I wish it was hot

Its way too cold around this time of year in Montclair I really wish I would have went to school down south. All my life I said I would go to school where the whether stayed atleast about 60 all year around for the most part. I'm a person who hates cold wheter, snow and everything that comes with it. I used to love christmas when I was younger but now I don't get anything I could care less about.

I just think its so crazy how going up a level in education could change somebody's life. I seen how some people act in high school then afterwards they become a different person. I didn't go to school with most of the people In MSU but something tells me they aren't living the life they used to

college hype

Alot of people back home ask me if college is the life everybody talk it up to be. I honestly don't know how to answer that question since i've been here. I cant say how the life is for other people you know. I've realized my life in college might be slightly different from everybody's else. I dont really party like that because you know that just never been my idea of having fun. I just wind up telling them they would have to experience something like college for your self to find out if it is good or not. Sometimes I think college is not the life for me, but then I realize how hard it might be in my future without it and I fight through it.

Dr. Martin Luther King blvs

Traveling around to different states during the past years of my life I've realized how every Dr. King blv is one of the worst streets in every neighborhood. I've always wondered why everyone would choose that street of all streets to make to street where the most violence and drug pushers would take place. If you ask anybody about going down "the blv" in any hood they would tell you its not the best idea. I think that disrespectful for a guy who put his life on the line to make sure we as minority are looked at as humans.

Haters

Why is it that when someones doing something positive with their life and is actually succeding there is always a group of people praying for the successful person's down fall? I think its the lowest thing to get mad at someone because of the work they did to get where they are. I say this because it one of the main reasons why people get killed in my neighborhood. When I hear people saying oh he/she forgot where he/she came from or he/she don't never come back and do anything for the kids. They sometimes know they are a target now and for a little bit of change someone would kill them.

New Orleans,Bush

When the hurricane Katrina occured I was wondering why everyone blamed most of it on The President(Bush). I was Thinking to my self like dont everybody know it had nothing to do with anybody it was just mother nature. Then I had a talk with a professor that I had and he told me there was a lot about the hurricane that I didnt know about. I read up on it, and I realized that the hurricane really didn't have anything to do with Bush. Then I thought that the people who stayed were just the dumbest people ever. Then I found out that New Orleans was like the poorest state in the USA. I found out the people who lived there where not financially stable enough to have transportation. So the mayor of New Orleans asked the president to get greyhounds to take people away, and he refused to. I thought that we should start a greyhound boycott for their inconsideredness. They where wrong but Bush was as wrong for not making them go. Basically anyone in office would be better then Bush so I happy reguardless who wins.

Making history

I mean it's crazy that where living in an era where so much history is currently being made.
There is a chance that not only a black man but also a women will win the president election. Before this year No one, well I would have never thought this would happen period yet it's happening. I feel as thought its already been made because as far as I know they never even made it this far. If they are the people for the job then I think it would be great to see either of them win. Im pretty sure there will be so much chaos if either of them happens to win. Who ever wins I hope that the job is taken care of properly.

"wow the Giants won"!!!!

I dont know why it is such a great deal that the New York Giants won the superbowl. I think its possible for any team in the NFL to win the superbowl. I mean after all they are all professional football players. Ok I understand nobody thought they would be in the run in the beginning of the season. That type of ending is common in sports and especially football, at any time any team could be beaten. When Pittsburgh won after a slow start it wasn't disscused as much as this superbowl finish.

college loans

The state should support higher education because of the same reason that regular education is supported by the state. The cost of higher education is too exspensive for most of the people who attends. People pay all kind of taxes and it’s used for regular education why shouldn’t it be used for the education that it’s really needed for. It wouldn’t really be taken away from the state I think because they would be getting the money back. Especially because a college degree does not carry the same weight as it previously did for some reason.
Everyone knows how expensive it is to go to college and to most people the cost alone discourages them. That leads them down another path which is not good, to avoid it help students with their goals. I’m not saying just help anyone who is not trying to help them selves but help the people who could make it far academically but is turned down because of financial problems.
